Cynthia D. Hernandez – Cindy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Currently, she is earning her PhD in International Psychology from the online/blended program at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Originally from the Pacific Coast of Southern California, she earned her Master of Social Work with a concentration in International Social Welfare from Dominican University in River Forest, IL in May 2008. Since then, she has worked overseas in South Africa, Guatemala, Peru, and Ghana in the areas of program evaluation and needs assessment, missionary work, telemental health, and sustainability efforts. Her training and clinical work have involved providing individual, family, and group therapy, including bilingual Spanish sessions, for adults and at-risk children and adolescents in various settings, such as in-home, school-based, and non-profit. Her clinical areas of focus have included, but are not limited to, the following: anxiety, depression, bereavement, sexual assault and trauma, and community and domestic violence.
Cindy enjoys spending time with family and friends, drinking a cup of coffee, traveling, trying new foods and culinary tastes, running, hanging out at the beach, exploring nature, and working on arts and crafts. She currently lives in Martinsville with her mother, two-year-old cat, “Joey”, and two kittens, “Havana” and “Lola”.
