If you feel limited by certain thoughts or emotions, or you find yourself struggling in relationships, you would probably prefer something different. The focus of my work is to help you free yourself from ways of being that are not working for you and step into how you prefer to live your life.
Your feeling of safety is paramount. We will move at a pace that is right for you to first find safety, and then reprocess traumatic memories that are effecting your life. I am fully basic trained in EMDR and Flash Technique.
I integrate mindful, experiential techniques into my work from attachment therapy, EMDR, Flash Technique, and Hakomi. I believe all people come into the world with potential to be their best, authentic selves. We then have experiences from which we develop beliefs about the world and strategies for how to navigate through it. These become a template for living our lives and we often apply them to situations and relationships where they don’t work. Together, we will work to reveal deeply held beliefs that may be blocking you. In my view, these beliefs solidified in response to emotional wounding in childhood, or to trauma. Our relationship can be a foundation for safe exploration and evolution. Together, we may be able to reprocess traumas that have formed limiting beliefs and experiences. It is possible to reset your patterns and to experience more fulfilling ways of interacting with the world.
I earned an M.S from Portland State University, where I focused on marital, couples, and family therapy. I have had professional training in the Hakomi Method, RC-S, and Attachment from M.E.T.A., where I also completed a year-long internship. I have completed full basic training in EMDR and Flash Technique. I also have training in grief counseling from The Dougy Center for Grieving Children and Families, where I was a volunteer facilitator. Before this, I earned a B.A. in English-Theatre from Barnard College and an M.F.A from the Yale School of Drama. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon working via telehealth with Oregon residents.
