People come to therapy because they want to feel better, plain and simple. But what does that mean? What happens when “talk-therapy” and words are not enough? Sometimes we can understand the source of our problems, but not actually feel any better. The basis of somatic therapy is that it incorporates and unites your body and mind. So instead of saying ‘what happened?’ or ‘how does that make you feel?’ I might ask “when you feel joy, what do you notice in your body?” Bringing therapy out of your head and into the body allows for a whole different level of change and healing. My work is based on my training in a variety of somatic modalities.
