I have experience providing individual and group therapy to a wide range of clients dealing with issues related to depression, anxiety, addiction, trauma, grief/loss, anger management, young adult issues, women’s issues, mood disorders, self-injury, identity, life changes/transitions, relationship difficulties, work/life balance, and empowerment. I can be a part of driving your change forward as we explore your goals, build a firm commitment to your future, and take the power back in your life to make and maintain those changes. I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology and Italian from the University of Colorado, and then graduated with honors from Illinois State University with a Masters degree in Clinical & Counseling Psychology. Combined with over 10 years of direct clinical work, I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, board certified with the National Board of Certified Counselors, certified in Dialectical Behavior Therapy through DBTNCAA, certified in Anger Management through NAMA, and also belong to national and local organizations such as the American Counselors Association and Illinois Mental Health Counselors Association.
My approach centers on therapeutic techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness practices. My priorities are placed firmly on collaboration, transparency, and humor to promote insight and change in a safe, strengths-focused, and personalized environment.
It’s a significant thing to decide you are ready to make a change, no matter how small. Change is difficult, and I view therapy as a unique opportunity to gain understanding, insight, and direction to help you take active and committed steps toward the change you hope to see!
