I have been practicing therapy for over 30 years in military & civilian settings, and practice action-oriented, ‘trauma-informed therapy,’ (trauma is relative). This is true no matter what the diagnosis is. I use EMDR Therapy, Flash Technique and other extremely effective therapies with trauma, mood disorders, sleep disorders & rapid resolution of relationship issues for families and couples of any gender & orientation-ALL really means ALL! As a retired military & OIF Veteran, I work with my clients to develop specific treatment goals Nd therapy plans to improve the quality of their lives & relationships.
My clients may have: * combat & other military trauma * history of child abuse * survivors of violence or abuse by supervisors * severe nightmares/night terrors * survivors of torture * difficult couple or family issues.
I am the author of “No More Nightmares: How to Use Planned Dream Intervention® to End Nightmares” and have taught my No More Nightmares Instructor’s Course to thousands of people world-wide. I also teach the class locally, with most attendees starting to sleep peacefully through the night right away. Also, the Planned Dream Intervention® skill is a permanently learned skill, so individuals do not have to go to years of therapy or take medications forever.
I am EMDRIA Certified in EMDR Therapy, a Retired Navy Commander, former Navy Special Operations Officer, Diving Officer (Warfare Qualified), with three tours with Marines, Army, Air Force, 4 shipboard tours and Joint Service Duty with Army and Marines in Iraq.
I have long been guided by the wisdom of EMDR Therapy creator, Dr. Francine Shapiro’s wisdom: “We need to move beyond removing symptoms and restore the client to full health.” Some individuals may feel that is out of reach, but I can confidently say that no one’s life is in a therapist’s office. My job is to help you get to that place of full health and then to get out your way. Your life is out there, and it can be wonderful!
