Dr Adele Parker obtained a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2004 and is registered as a Practitioner Psychologist with the Health & Care Professions Council (PYL19234), a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, a Graduate Member and Fellowship Member of the British Psychological Society and the Division of Clinical Psychology (Membership No. 040590). Adele is also a member of the EMDR Association, UK and Ireland (Membership No. J148).
Adele worked in the NHS from 2004 and solely as an independent Clinical Psychologist since 2010. Whilst she has extensive experience working with generic mental health difficulties, including anxiety based problems (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Phobias, Health Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Separation Anxiety), and depression following adverse life events, such as bereavement and loss, she has specialised throughout her career in the field of trauma (ranging from single event traumas, such as road traffic accidents, to developmental trauma – individuals who have experienced trauma throughout their early development, such as maltreatment, family violence, or a disruption in attachment to their primary caregiver).
Adele trained in EMDR in 2010 and has since undertaken a number of professional development courses, including the Flash technique, in order to add to her therapeutic ‘tool box’ as well as to ensure individuals receive the most up to date treatment to address their psychological difficulties.
