Dr. Molly Kierein (PSY29895) is a licensed clinical psychologist who earned a masters degree (MA) in Counseling Psychology from Lesley University in Massachusetts and a doctorate (PsyD) in clinical psychology from The American School of Professional Psychology, San Francisco Campus. She completed predoctoral training at The University of Arizona, College of Medicine (UA) and postdoctoral training at The San Francisco Veteran Affairs Medical Center (SFVAMC).
Her research focused on examining underlying brain mechanisms that correspond to a variety of symptoms of mental illness. Mental illnesses are biologically and neurologically based. Her clinical training and practice embraces the concept of neuroplasticity. Neuroplasticity is the ability of the brain to form new connections and pathways and change how its circuits are wired. The focus of her clinical work is to collaboratively create new targeted experiences, relationships, meaning ,and behaviors in order to facilitate healing and change. Often when we change our behaviors, our thoughts and feeling will follow.
